McQueen and I

Ola Amigos,

First off thank you for visiting my blog! I am currently dying my hair and I thought, “What could I do for the next hour and a half?” I instantly thought to watch McQueen and I, this documentary goes through Alexander McQueen’s life as a designer and all the troubles he faced. Anyone who knows me is aware of how much I love Alexander McQueen. I noticed his signature chiffon scull scarf when I started watching Keeping up with the Kardashians many years ago (guilty pleasure - don’t judge). It is safe to say I have watched this documentary 100+ times and it never seizes to tug at my heartstrings and make me fall even more in love with him. He was born in a time when people were not as accepting to gay people and his work was very much different than what was being put on the runways. He inspires me to embrace all the things that make me different. Although he took his life, I view him as a strong, unique soul. I’ve always liked the darkness in his work and the birds have always mesmerized me. Along with the McQueen documentary I get very ecstatic when I watch Advanced Style, this is another documentary based on a handful of women who express themselves vibrantly through their clothes.
